Starring: Michael J. Fox, Keiffer Sutherland, Swoosie Kurtz, Phoebe Cates, Frances Sternhagen, Dianne Weist, John Houseman

Our boy is a frustrated would-be writer from the midwest, but has lately come to feel quite at home in the mid-80`s NYC party scene. He`s got talent, but serves only as a lowly fact-checker for an uptight, snobby magazine, and his stern female boss is equally anal.

Michael is also an incredible coke fiend and frequents nightclubs until 5 or 6 AM, only to drag himself to work in shoddy condition. He is encouraged by his new best friend, Keiffer, who is from old money and has somewhat better self-control.

The last week in our boy`s New York life is chronicled here, sometimes in flashbacks. Michael wasn`t always such a loser, but his downfall was long in its coming, and was completed when his wife suddenly became a world-famous model and left him. Hints of his former ambitions and wholesome life haunt him: he used to want to really write, he once had a simple, loving wife, and once had strong midwestern moral background and a family to support him.

Michael`s younger brother comes in person after repeated phone messages fail to elicit any response concerning the one year anniversary of their mother`s death from cancer. This is what he`s really been running from and using drugs to shield himself from: reality, morality and honest living.

In the end Michael chooses to go back home to his family, not simply for his Mom`s sake, but for himself as well. He`s had enough of the big city and all it`s corruption.

Trivia: Cameo by Frazier`s younger brother, David Hyde Pierce. Also, so far as YMP can determine, this is the only FFTTM to feature two Oscar- winning actors-Ms. Wiest and Mr. Houseman.
