Anthony is a rich preppie on the verge of losing his girlfriend Nancy, who has become tired of his snobby social circle. Michael and his friend Todd are co-leaders of the outre` members of the student body, and rivals of Anthony and the richies. When Nancy decides that she likes Michael`s honesty more than Anthony`s style and money, the entire social and class structure of the school is thrown into chaos, forcing the inevitable battle lines to be drawn. Some teachers even get into similar situations amongst themselves.
Lotsa hijinx ensue, yadda, yadda, yadda...
It all comes down to a car race, that being the currently accepted form of single combat beween our two warring camps. Michael is set to use Krispin`s dad`s car, but the richies sabotage it. Wouldn`t you know it- mechanical wiz Todd and the rest of the slobs improvise another super-duper souped-up car from scraps out of shop class.
Guess who wins the race, the girl and the culture war?
