The Lost Boys (1988) Warner Brothers

Written and Directed by Joel Schumacher

Starring: Kieffer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Edward Herrman, Barnard Hughes, Jami Gertz, Dianne Wiest, Alex Winter

Dianne and her two sons, newly alone in this world, move from Phoenix to the left coast to live with her dad, Barnard.

As the brothers explore their new home town they meet different types of people: Jason, the elder, meets and joins a mysterious group of delinquents, while Corey H meets fellow comic book fanboys Corey F and his friend, who warn him of the dirty little secret of the seaside town: there`s a gang of Billy Idol-worshipping vampires running around every night causing mayhem, mischief and murder in this middle class utopia.

Jason is seduced by the darkside while the Coreys begin preparations for their project of vampire eradication. Their first attack goes badly, though they rescue fledgling vamp Jami and her little brother, but Corey H`s bad driving nearly kills them all!

The vamps launch a counterattack at our boys` home and the final battle is truly joined. Jason, not yet a full vampire and seeking to reject that course, helps the Coreys and ends up killing Kieffer, the leader of the pack, but he and Jami are not freed from their curse as expected-there must be another head vampire! It turns out to be Edward, Mom`s new love interest. He has been pursuing Dianne as a mother for his pack of lost boys and also wanted to add her two sons to his vampire family of the undead. The boys kill him as well and eliminate the last vestiges of the undead, allowing Jason and Jami to really fall in love, thus beginning the reign of goodness in the town.

Trivia: Corey H has a poster of bare-chested pretty boy Rob Lowe on the door to his "closet"-is it for beefcake purposes, or does he simply like FFTTM`s? Also, Alex Winter is better known for his back-up role in Bill and Ted`s Excellent Adventure.
