Campus Man (1987) Paramount

Starring: John Dye, Steve Lyon, Kim Delaney, Kathleen Wilhaite, Miles O`Keefe, Morgan Fairchild

Our boy is in college and making waves, but not in the marketing class he adores, where the teacher senses something lacking in his brilliant but undisciplined student.

A natural hustler with great drive, John loses his scholarship due to a mix up with his paperwork, and must come up with the full tuition in a month`s time. Enter a renegade loanshark/entrepeneur who will finance our guy`s latest and most ambititious venture yet- for a price. The plan is for a beefcake calendar of the leading male campus athletes to sell to all the female students...and a few others (wink, wink, nudge nudge, say no more!)

The debts pile up quickly, but the hero is saved when a major fashion magazine becomes interested in the project-if his modest but hunky roommate will consent to be the centerfold model. Hunky Steve reluctantly agrees out of friendship. Unfortunately, no one realized that the deal would void his amateur status and his NCAA eligbility for the upcoming diving championship.

An elaborate ruse gets the magazine deal out of the picture, and Steve`s athletic career is now safe, but John still owes the impatient shark the vig. This problem is solved by making over the loanshark and putting him in the centerfold, which fulfills his secret dream and cancels the debt!

The tremendous effort to save his friend convinces the marketing teacher that John has acheived the last lesson he needed, and gives him an A+.

Trivia: Kim Delaney is now one of the stars of the hit TV program NYPD Blue.
