Our guys, the notoriously clean and upbeat rap duo Kid `n Play, have a great chance to step out a bit and MC a friend`s house party while representing their freshest rhymes. Along the way they inadvertently anger old school stalwarts Full Force, starting the first of many rap wars.
They must now dodge their musical foes, L.A. Police and a strict old head Dad, then cajole a reluctant Martin into lending them his vintage records for the one night stand, all in order to earn their props and perhaps a few ducats.
Lotsa hijinx ensue, but our boys keep it real and play it off legit. The party is a smashing success, the bad guys are banished, new romances bloom, and at least one of the guys gets home undetected after hours-but Kid is caught sneaking in by angry dad Robin, who holds his belt menacingly as we slowly fade to black...
Trivia: RIP for Robin Harris, veteran stand up comedian, who died just after filming ended. Cameo by George Clinton. You know who Martin "Whassup!" Lawrence and his TV girlfriend Tisha are.
