Haim fantasizes about getting his driver`s license and breaking the chains of dependence on school busses and begged rides. He`s also looking forward to the higher social status that driving brings, and seeks to impress best buds Feldman and Michael in particular.
He survives his ordeal by fire during the driving test, but just fails the written exam. Pride keeps him from admitting the truth, however, and he drives illegally. Hijinx ensue, as you can imagine.
A wild night out with his dream girl ends up with her drinking and passing out in his trunk, the droogs in the car cruising with him, and the vehicle being "borrowed" by a drunk driver, but not before the C, C and M crew have already put it through it`s paces. The car is wrecked, but running and recoverable.
Haim slinks home in the morning, tail between his legs, expecting severe punishment, but his expectant mother goes into labour just then. As Dad is her Lamaze coach, Corey must drive to the hospital, which erases all his misdeeds.
Trivia: This is the first known meeting of the Coreys. Also, Michael Manasseri would later star in USA`s TV Weird Science, and went to Bowie (MD) High School with YMP`s friend Mike, the one who looks like John P. Navin Jr. Also, the girl in Haim`s trunk is none other than Shagaliscious Boogie Babe Heather Graham! (On a highly humourous note, another friend of YMP`s once lost a $100 bet over this trivial topic.)
