Jimmy is a schemer and a scammer-quite a good one, as both his rich girlfriend and best bud Matthew well know. He always needs cash, so all his friends make certain not to have any on hand, because no one can resist his smooth cons and promises.
On the fateful day, Jimmy discovers that his father is having an affair, shocking the young con man and rocking his world. However, this doesn`t stop him from bedding this woman when she makes a subtle offer. He`s deliberately late for his prom date with the lovely Ionye, just because he thinks he can get away with it, but she has other plans.
He arrives hours late for the Big Dance and finds her with a rich last-minute substitute date. Jimmy causes a major scene, but contrary to teen stereotypes, gets the sh*t kicked out of him in the ensuing fight. Boy, did he deserve it!
He realizes that he has only gotten his just deserts, and learns an important lesson in humility when he must call Dad to pick him up after wrecking the car. Despite the old man`s infidelity, his basic honesty and work ethic impress young Jimmy for the first time, and he vows to go to college and stop being such a ne`er-do-well.
