Risky Business (1983) Warner Bros

Written and Directed by Paul Brickman

Starring: Tom Cruise, Rebecca DeMornay, Bronson Pinchot, Curtis "Booger" Armstrong, Richard Masur, Nicholas Pryor

Our boy Tom is the leader of the droogs, or at least the first among several of a group of typical middle-class, middle-American frustrated high school kids. College looms and SAT`s, resume`s and another way of scoring are on all their minds. Curtis, ever the agent provocateur, forces a reluctant Tom to just do it, and indulge in delivered drive-in physical satifaction.

Tom had it going so well on his own before this-an empty house in which he could dance in his shorts undisturbed, drink out of the juice carton without a glass, produce a preponderance of bass, etc.

However, Rebecca, with all her charms, rocks his world and involves Tom and all his best buds in a speculative scheme concerning the skin trade. The earnings far exceed that of his piddling school project, but angers Rebecca`s former pimp, who extorts all of our boy`s profits. Tom`s Harvard recruiter comes to visit at exactly the wrong time, as is always expected. The party/business venture only goes downhill from there.

The `rents come back after the party is over, and soon receive the wonderful news that Harvard needs more enterprising young people like Tom to round out their diverse student body, according to the very satisfied recruiter dude.

Comment: This is probably the best looking and most stylish movie on this page.
