Seven Minutes in Heaven (1986) Zoetrope Studios

Written by Jane Berstein and Linda Feferman, Directed by Linda Feferman, a Francis Ford Coppola Joint

Starring: Jennifer Connoly, Bryan Thomas, Maddie Corman. Cameo by Spaulding Grey

Without a doubt the sweetest, most innocent movie on this site.

We`ve got a little circle of friends here-three lean, clean Cincinnati teens: Jennifer, being raised by her widowed father who`s often on the road; Maddie, randy, but inexperienced; and their guy friend, Bryan, who is facing a new family situation after his mother remarries.

Each of the best buds goes through various crises, tensions flair, and jealousy rears its ugly head, but they always stick together in the end.

Jennifer wins a coveted trip to Washington, which yields personal insights, but no future career prospects; Maddy sneaks off to New York to be with her baseball player fantasy hunk, but is rebuffed and sent home as the innocent dreamer she was before; and Bryan manages to work things out at home with the help of his loving and devoted mother.

When we last see our heroes they are all fulfilled, happy and skating down the neat, tree-lined street on which they all live.

Comment: seven minutes is the length of time it takes for a fantasy to fade and for reality to take over once again, according to Maddie. Thanx to Glenzig for turning YMP onto this fine FFTTM. Top Ten material, for sure!
