Thrashin` (1986)

Our boy is an energetic young renegade, a devotee of hardcore skateboarding, and migrates down to the Southland, the Mecca of thrashin`. He soon becomes the leader of a relatively clean-cut, benificent group of dedicated boarders. Alas, they come up against a band of foul-smelling, leather-clad boarders who seem to want to ruin skating for everyone.

An upcoming competition forces the respective teams to battle on the boards, but when our hero unknowingly falls in love with the little sister of his chief opponent, all heck breaks loose.

Professional and personal considerations proliferate as several possible lucrative advertising and promotional deals come to depend on the outcome of the skateboarding match. The stakes are raised for all of the earnest contestants. Will the cute young woman side with her new love or her punk brother?

The boyz battle boisterously on the boards, and young Josh ends up victorious, and wins the girl`s affection as well.

Trivia: cameos by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fishbone as themselves. Also, Josh Brolin, son of James Brolin, is now the stepson of none other than Barbara Joan Streisand!
